Our FAQ

How much does a hogroast cost?

Our fully catered hog roasts start from as little as £895 for your first 100 guests and covers us to provide everything you need for great service, perfect for evening parties/weddings and everything inbetween.

Can you cook it indoors?

This is not advised but what we can do is cook outside under our marquee and bring it in to serve to your guests if you wish.

How is the pig cooked?

Unlike most companies; all of our hogroasts are cooked and carved on the spit pole for the full theatre experience unless you request otherwise.

When opting for our DIY oven hire you can choose whether you would like the spitroast or the easier-to-use tray cooking method.

DIY? How hard is it?

We are well aware that not everybody is an experienced chef or used to roasting a whole hog! We will help get you started with a demonstration of the equipment and a thorough guide on how to use the oven and details on how to deal with anything that may arise during the cooking process. We will endeavour to make it as easy as possible for you to jump right in.

Do you have a vegan option?

We will always do everything we can to cater for all of your guests' needs.  We are able to arrange alternatives depending on your requirements and create a bespoke option for your hire.  Talk to a member of our team to explore your choices.

Can you cook for gluten-free clients?

We get asked this regularly and yes we can, the only gluten in the majority of our menus is the bread roll. We can supply a number of gluten-free alternative rolls, just let us know 2 weeks before when confirming your final numbers!

I only have 30 guests, can you help?

Our hogroasts are priced based on a minimum of 100 guests charge. This means we charge based on 100 guests and you can have fewer guests but we are afraid this alone isn't guaranteed to bring the price down.

You might like to talk with us about other options such as DIY oven hire or possibly having a suckling pig delivered to carve yourselves.

What area do you cover?

We are based in Maidstone, Kent and are happy to cover Kent and surrounding towns.

Depending on the event or setup required we may be able to come slightly further afield but prices will vary.

How much space do you need?

That depends on what you order; when we do everything for you we generally need room for our small marquee, just 3m x 3m. For larger events or if you're adding on our bar "The Trough" we might need our larger 3m x 6m marquee.

How big an event can you cater for?

We charge for a minimum of 100 guests but have been known to cater for as few as 20 or as many as 1000 - we have many ovens that we may have on the go at any one time.

When do we pay?

We ask for a 50% deposit on booking and any remaining amounts are due no later than 2 weeks before the event when we also require your final guest numbers. Any later than this and your event will automatically cancel.

Does it have to have the head on?

For the full experience we recommend keeping the head on (kids especially, love this).
If; however, you would prefer not to have the head on, we can remove this before your hog arrives on site.

How long are you on site for?

This depends on your event and what setup you require. If we are cooking onsite we may be cooking for 6 to 10 hours before serving.

We generally serve for 1.5 hours depending on the guest numbers and how many come back for 2nds. If you would like for us to stay longer just contact us beforehand to arrange this.

If opting for us to cook offsite we will cook to a certain point and then arrive roughly 2 hours before serving to complete the last 2 hours cooking at the venue.
